Things to Do at Our Seattle Farm

Welcome to Seattle Farm — a family-owned working farm in South Seattle's Rainier Valley, in our family since 1919 and now run by the fifth generation. We host annual apple and pumpkin harvests with pony rides, private events, and farm photo shoots with our horses. Here's everything you can do at the farm, all in one place.

Apple Picking in Seattle: Apples and Ponies at Our Farm

Horse grazing among ripe apple trees at Seattle Farm's Apples and Ponies

When the leaves turn and the mornings get crisp, there's no better family outing than apple picking in Seattle. And you don't have to drive hours out of the city to do it — our 100-year-old working farm sits right in South Seattle, minutes from downtown.

Once a year, a small group of families spreads out across the farm to pick organic, U-pick apples, ride ponies, and share lunch in The Barn. It's one of the most-loved fall traditions for families across the city, and one of the closest apple orchards to Seattle.

When is Apples and Ponies 2026?

Our next Apples and Ponies is Sunday, September 13th, 2026, from 10am to 1pm. Admission is $50 per person in advance (rising to $60 a few days before) and includes a half-peck bag of U-pick organic apples, a fire-roasted lunch in The Barn at noon, a pony ride, and on-site parking. Children 2 and under are free. Tickets are limited, so book early.

Good to know

  • Pony rides for kids run from noon to 1pm, and you can meet our 13 other friendly horses and ponies
  • Wear lightweight pants and closed-toed shoes; each minor needs a parent or guardian on-site
  • Drop in any time during the event — on-site private parking is included
  • Our apples are 100% organic and unsprayed, so they may have the occasional worm hole
  • No dogs, please

Find us at 4506 S. Bond St., Seattle, WA 98118 — drive past the big yellow house, down the gravel driveway, and park in the meadow.

Pumpkin Patch in Seattle With Pony Rides

Pumpkins scattered on the lawn in front of the Seattle Farm barn

Most pumpkin patches mean a long drive south or east of the city. Ours doesn't. Our pumpkin patch is right here in South Seattle, minutes from downtown — and it comes with something most patches can't offer: pony rides.

Kids get to pick their own pumpkin straight from the patch and ride the ponies, all in one visit — the kind of afternoon that becomes a family tradition. Pumpkins and Ponies has been growing for over a decade, and in 2024 even Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and his family joined us.

When is Pumpkins and Ponies 2026?

Join us Saturday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 10am to 2pm. Admission is $20 per person and includes parking and a fire-roasted hot dog. Pony rides run 10am to 1pm at $18 per ride, and monster pumpkins are available for $40.

Good to know

  • Bring the whole family — friends welcome
  • No dogs, and no outside food, please
  • Each minor must have a parent or guardian on-site
  • One private party location is available upon request

Find us at 4506 South Bond Street, Seattle, WA 98118.

Farm and Horse Photo Shoots in Seattle

A photo shoot with a white horse at Seattle Farm

Great photos need a great setting, and there's nothing quite like a working farm. Our South Seattle farm gives families and photographers a rustic, natural backdrop — weathered barns, open pasture, golden light, and the one thing that makes any photo unforgettable: horses.

We offer photo shoots with our horses in the fields, in the barns, or among the pumpkins — all nestled privately between pastoral hills, still inside the city of Seattle. If you've been searching for a photoshoot with horses near you or a farm photo shoot in Seattle, you've found it.

How it works

Our photo shoot minimum is $250 for one hour, for up to two people, and we have a changing suite if you need it. Please note the photographer is not included — bring your own. We usually shoot in the afternoons and evenings and have plenty of availability. Purchase your session, tell us your preferred date and time, and we'll reach out to schedule. If we can't find a time, you get a 100% refund.

Couples and planners are always looking for a venue that feels different — warm and rustic, not another hotel ballroom. Our farm is exactly that: a genuine 20+ acre farm venue inside the Seattle city limits, in our family since 1919, with open lawns, a remodeled event barn, and resident horses.

We host weddings, corporate events, charity auctions, and all kinds of celebrations. Pony Rides and Kids' Pony Parties Near Seattle

A child with a pony-pulled cart at Seattle Farm's Pumpkins and Ponies

Few things light up a child's face like a pony. Our South Seattle farm is home to gentle, well-cared-for ponies (and 13 other friendly horses), and pony rides are one of the simplest joys we offer.

The easiest way to enjoy them is at our fall events: pony rides for kids run at both Apples and Ponies (noon to 1pm) and Pumpkins and Ponies (10am to 1pm, $18 per ride). Planning a birthday or celebration? We also have a private party location available upon request — just reach out and tell us what you have in mind.
